This 1980s Hidy Misawa silk party dress is the perfect statement piece for any event and has a very contemporary feel. Hidy Misawa was a Japanese designer who set up her own British based label which was sadly short lived from 1978 until 1983.

Of complex construction and superbly made, the dress has a fitted black silk velvet bodice with a sweetheart neckline, complete with boning to the sides and front bust panels for extra support and shape. The inside of the bodice is lined, and it fastens down the back with a central zipper and hook and eye closure. The skirt is crafted from a slightly iridescent hot pink raw silk and ruched across the hip area in classic 80s style. It features a rear central bow detail, with a large sash-like finish that flows down along with the rest of the skirt. The lower portion is made up of two gathered tiers which are lined in a stiff, high quality pink mesh to add a voluminous effect. The upper section of the skirt is also lined in a lovely soft pale pink silk fabric. This dress, though labelled as a UK 12, would best fit a modern-day size 8-10 UK or 4-6 US and was a perfect but tight fit on our model. In fabulous vintage condition with no flaws or stains to note.
