Description

This show-stopping 1950s floral strapless dress with fishtail hem is designed to turn heads. The rose print design is in a man-made sateen type fabric of electric blue, navy and dusky pink. Coupled with the incredible construction, the simple silhouette of the piece would suit an hourglass figure. The bodice is corseted to further accentuate the waistband and lift the bust. There is a subtle sweetheart curvature to complement the bare shoulders with lengthly darts at the front and reverse to further sculpt the bodice. The key feature however is undoubtedly the magnificently structured mermaid style fishtail hem. Gathered at the mid-calf into a fan of neat and evenly spaced pleats, the tail is skilfully reinforced with a thick starched fabric and stiff netting to ensure the classic silhouette is maintained to the fullest.
