1950s White Chantilly Lace Wedding Dress For Discount

Description
This pretty early 1960s or late 1950s white Chantilly style lace bridal gown has a fairy tale charm. The man-made, Chantilly style lace overlay covers the dress in its entirety and features a delicate floral design. The lace on the skirt is interspersed with a tier of plain tulle which adds depth and interest to the fabric. The mid calf-length skirt has a soft layer of under tulle netting in addition to a sateen lining and is gathered at the waistline to create volume. The bodice nips in at the waist and the sateen underlay is cut into a sweetheart shape at the bust that is visible beneath the lace, which continues further up the chest in a gently sweeping round neckline. The sleeves remain sheer and taper to a point at the wrists with a concealed popper fastening on each cuff. A central zip fastening on the reverse runs to just below the waist.Â
In lovely vintage condition and very white and fresh looking with no makers label present. Â Whilst the top presentation layer is in excellent vintage condition with no issues, on close inspection there are a few areas of small scattered holes to the netting underlay and the sateen underlay – these are not at all visible when worn. Â A further net petticoat could be added underneath if greater fullness is desired. This piece would best suit US size 4 – 6, UK size 8 – 10.
