1960s Jacqueline Godard Couture Black silk Chiffon Dress Ensemble Online Hot Sale

Description
Designed by Jacqueline Godard in the late 1960s or early 1970s this elegant ensemble is formed of a slip dress and sheer, shirt-dress style top layer. Crafted from black finest silk chiffon, the pretty shirt layer has beaded cuffs, a double-layered skirt, a dramatic dagger collar and an open front from the waist up – cannily designed to reveal the beadwork on the slip underneath. The slip dress is tailored to a straight, loose silhouette which recalls ‘20s shapes and finished with delicate, pale mesh straps and a concealed zip at the rear. From the fabric-covered buttons at the sleeves to the intricate beading, this dress was fashioned from expert, haute couture trained hands in France. Would look good paired with a belt for a low luxe vibe. In excellent vintage condition with no faults of any note. A good fit for up to a UK size 14-16 or US 10-12.
