1980s Navy and White Polka Dot and Floral Dress For Discount

Description
This 1980s dress, made in France, is by New Bond Street-based brand The White House and displays many of the era s boldest hallmarks – note the peplum waist, puff-shoulders and vibrant print. The smooth silk fabric is printed with a splashy navy and white polka-dot print alongside painterly florals in turquoise, orange and pink. It is cut with a wrap-around cross-over waist, detailed with three fabric-covered buttons on the left side of the waist. The same buttons secure the cuffs on the three-quarter length sleeves. A coordinating belt cinches the waist, and a hidden zip closes the rear. Â The skirt portion is lined in soft white viscose. Â The dress is in very good vintage condition; two small fabric pulls noted, very faint underarm halos and a very faint mark on the bodice none of which is seen when worn. Â We missed them until inspecting very closely. Â Will fit up to a UK size 10-12 or US 6-8. Our model is a UK 8-10 and 5ft 11in (180cm) and this dress fit her well.Â
The White House was the grande dame at No 51-52 and retailed the finest fabric and homewares in the exclusive Bond Street precinct, London. They had a renowned ready to wear and couture salon from 1906 until the store was sold off in 1997. Â The building is presently occupied by Emporio Armani. Â
